I played Crossfire for the first time in days today, after getting somewhat bored with Blitz. The first match alone reminded me why I don't play Crossfire anymore.

The Assassin lunge fails more than 50% of the time. So many missed kills and failed escapes because of this lunge issue.

The Assassin smoke bomb jump fails 90% of the time. I am almost NEVER able to pull of a smoke bomb jump, which continues to get me killed. No, this is not "user error."

The Assassin's grapple has the worst hit detection of any grapple. I stood next to a scoped in sniper who had no idea i was there. He was not moving. It took THREE grapples before I actually grappled him.

Apparently, Lazer Blazers can see cloaked Assassins. In Ammo Mule, I put on my level 3 cloak, waited 3 seconds, looked to make sure that i had full cloak, and walking into the range of 2 level 3 Lazer Blazers. And died. I'm glad turrents have infrared vision.

Put it all together and you've got an Assassin who can't grapple, lunge, or escape. Awesome. And before they get called lag related issues. I was host.

I have no problems playing assassin (other than the occasional smoke bomb jump failure). I don't know what is going on with you. Sorry. Honestly, if they fix the explosive sniper rounds, I will have officially of run out of things to bitch about.

    Were the Blazers Hacked?

I think if you Hack Lazer Blazers to an extent they can see through a Cloak. I do know that for some reason, Bots (and maybe turrets) can already see through a level 1 Cloak.

No, they shouldn't be able to see through any level cloak. It may seem like they can see through a level 1 cloak just because of how incredibly long a level 1 cloak takes to activate. Bots and turrents can still see you while the cloak is activating.

I played Crossfire for the thousandth time in days today, after getting somewhat bored with Blitz. The first match alone reminded me why I always play Crossfire now.

The Assassin lunge succeeds more than 50% of the time. So many successful kills and lucky escapes because of this lunge issue.

The Assassin smoke bomb jump works 90% of the time. I am almost ALWAYS able to pull of a smoke bomb jump, which continues to save my life. No, this is not "user error."

The Assassin's grapple has the best hit detection of any grapple. I stood next to a bunny-hopping Assault who knew i was there. He was frantic. It took one grapple before I actually grappled him.

Apparently, Lazer Blazers can't see cloaked Assassins. In Steel Peel, I put on my level 1 cloak, waited 3 seconds, looked to make sure that i had full cloak, dashed into the opponent's spawn area through the range of 2 level 3 Lazer Blazers. And tore things up. I'm disappointed turrets are useless.

Put it all together and you've got an Assassin who can grapple, lunge, and escape. Awesome. And before they get called lag related issues. I wasn't host.

Seriously though, I can't actually vouch for infa-red lasers. I've never tested it, but I've never been shot by lasers while cloaked as long as the cloak was fully formed. Even as a host, I expect there to be glitches sometimes. I think there was some funny business going on with your match. I'm usually able to do exactly what I try to do as an Assassin. When I get killed, it's often because I got too eager to be all Rambo-riffic. The Assassin's primary duty is to hit bots, accumulate juice, then be the biggest threat to anything the other side's got.

the glitchiness of the lunge under any amount of lag means that I only play assassin if I'm host now.

It doesn't stop when/where it's supposed to. Instead of stopping as soon as you reach a target, it often slides past/through them so that you end up on the other side, facing the wrong direction to follow up with anything.

The distance it goes becomes random, so a lunge that would normally be safe will sometimes send you flying off the edge, or not far enough to reach the platform you were aiming for.

Overall it just feels a bit warp-y, rubberband-y, and you can't really depend on it to put you where it should.

And then there's the bug where the shuriken launcher gets out of sync and actually fires slower when not host.

If you have a cable connection, that could well be the problem. Cable doesn't have a reliable speed, so you could have had some anomalies that were only noticeable by you.

I really don't know what to tell you if these are close to the actual number you are experiencing these things and are not failing due to user error or connection issues. The few times I roll assassin all play very smoothly, and I played the class extensively before the patch so I generally know what I'm talking about.

The fail lunges are about the only thing that ever make me rage when playing as an assassin.

For some odd reason the smoke bomb jump has a MUCH higher failure rate when you are host! I have no idea why. So when I'm host (which oddly enough is often) I know to not depend on a high flying getaway. Everything else functions well when you are host, and on a good host as well. One thing that happens that I can complain about is when I see a pro near bots, lunge and grapple, just to find a blackjack get owned. Now thats a "FFFFFUUUUUUUU..." moment.
