Why is it always the worst part about a game is the people?

I am new to this game.
Bought it on Saturday.
Why am I in games with everyone a waaay higher rank than me yet im the only one doing anything?
I am trying out the classes cuz I dont know how to play them.
I play Support to get used to setting up a good base and turrets and such.
What happens is I end up getting swarmed in our home base constantly cuz apparently no one can stop them coming to our home base.
So I get sick of it and switch to gunner and kill a few pros and then our home base becomes a ghost town again.
I switch back to support after getting killed and oh guess what its spawn rape time again.
So im once again in our spawn jumping as around trying to kill pros while my team is......?
What he hell is going on?
Game after game its the same thing.
I must have lost 15 games in a row last night and Im not saying everyone elsse sucks cuz im a noob but what the hell is going on?
No one puts up a turret.
No one sends bots.
No one kills pros.
This must be old news to you guys but Im pissed lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had a few games like that recently, though I'm not sure how it's happening. I'll push both lanes out and we'll have them trapped in their base then all of a sudden our ball is down and I have to rush back to kill whoever's there. By the time I've done that we've got robots storming our front and half the turrets are dead.

I suspect in my case it's people abusing the annoying 'players can knock down the shield' bug but that should be getting fixed in the upcoming patch. Still doesn't stop the "lol overtime" technique though, which lost us a match because the engineer hopping around our base appeared to be coated in anti-grapple freaking teflon and my lunges just slid right off the jerk too. I say me not being able to stop him lost us the match because it's not like the others were much use... hell, I don't know where they were but they weren't doing much to the enemy ball and they sure weren't stopping this hopping maniac.

I guess this is the gamble you face when you play public games though .

Not neglecting the fact that you probably have just had a string of bad luck and you should play with friends, are you doing all this switching during the game? If so you're not helping your team because you're losing out on power ups and consistancy. Also, and I've had this happen a number of times before, I'll pick my class at the beginning thinking "ok cool, I'm the Assassin" or "We don't have any Supports, so I'll play Support" only to have people change up during the match and throw off our team's balance. Not only that, since they're changing later in the match, we're losing out on your power ups.

I guess so lol.
I wondered why some dudes were untouchable as they jumped around our moneyball.
Dont know anything about glitches but I guess that explains some of the stuff I saw.
Ya and the last thing you said sums it up.
If your not helping me defend our moneyball against their whole team then why isnt their moneyball under attack?
Man is that annoying trying to learn a game when people who have 5 times my rank are useless.

Go to the Introduce Yourself thread, copy down some GTs and send some invites with a note so we know you're not a creeper.

Ya I see what you mean but I was tired of fighting 5 guys with a support kit so I had to switch to at least stand a chance against them.
I see what you mean about balance and how you are gimped a bit when you use another class.

Try just playing D as a gunner, that's what I do and I almost always get MVP and you'd be surprised at the amount of kills you rack up just sitting at home base.

Im gonna have to try that cuz everytime I try another class I end up fighting 5 enemies in my spawn with a support kit or something.

I'm becoming less and less convinced that you are actually HOOOFARTED.

I played a game tonight with an assault complaining in chat that nobody else on our team was doing anything, and somebody needed to back him up. I eventually switched my mic on to tell him to chill out, that I'd been trying to push into the other team's base.

The jerk told me to stop shooting bots and blow up some enemy turrets.

Despite the fact that I'd been blowing up turrets as a gunner (until enemy snipers put one between my eyes) I was kindof dumbfounded. I was trying to push lanes towards the enemy base so the bots could take down the shield. I would've thought that someone trying to tell the rest of the team to do something would know how the game works.

In short, yeah, sometimes the people in the game really suck. But I've met a few cool folks as well, which makes up for it. And having just one other friendly voice in chat to coordinate with makes this game unbelievably fun.
