Why can't plane wrecks land in the water?

Is it because base_plane or what not can't land in water? And so the wreck can't either?

Well seeing as planes instantly sink to the bottom upon hitting the water and being shredded to bits in real life...

I don't see the issue.

Plane wrecks in PA have an aversion to being in the water, and will often actively teleport to the nearest land.
