I've seen 3 or 4 different players using the speed glitch to run laps around the maps in the last 12 hours. Is there a specific reason they're doing this? Seems strange to join a public game just to run in circles...
Ah quite a sight indeed. What you have witnessed are players with a disease rightly named "Lackataskillitus". It manifests in a player who believes they are a "pro" Assassin player but are in fact noobish people who need to use exploits to accomplish anything yet find themselves not knowing what to do so they run around aimlessly. It's appearing more frequently as of late which leads me to theorize that we possibly have a epidemic on our hands. God help us.
To expand further on this, they sometimes hunt in packs. If one assassin does it and another person sees it, then they'll start doing it. Sooner or later you have half of a team running around like 5 year olds on speed. They rarely have mics, and when they do they deny it back and forth that they were just using the normal dash. The only remedy to them is to trounce them, over and over again. They'll eventually rage quit, as players of little skill do.
The dash protags are only earned while you are dashing = the blue skill is draining (I think, I'm not sure), and it's measured in time, not distance. So if you meet someone who is doing this, don't worry, a person who haven't understood the differance between distance and time won't help your team even if he didn't pick the assassin.
I had a game this morning where it started us off 3 v 4. I went assassin, since it's my best class and I felt like I had the best chance of holding the superior numbers off until the teams filled out. Well when the teams filled out, mine filled out with three more assassins. When I saw this I switched to support, then when I spawned as support two of the assassins were just standing in our spawn throwing shurikens and doing kicks. what in the world is it about the assassin class that seems to attract the sort of people who just want to do laps around the arena or shoot shurikens in the spawn
I thought the glitch was related specifically to the dash skill, and while it's time and not distance related, if it is based on the dash skill, keeping mobile for a long time would cover that. I don't pay too much attention to these glitches because while I don't normally cheat, I'm not a big fan of being tempted to use a glitch. So I could easily be wrong. I like this crocodile hunter vibe we got going, though. Has anyone caught one of these elusive beasts in the wild?
I've had a dash glitching assassin stop to try and front grapple me, then front grappled them back for a kill since they weren't wearing any armor. I think they're just too fast to catch if they're moving though.
