It takes forever for people to join my lobby when I'm host.

Is it because I MAY have a terrible server?
Is it because of distance? (I live in Japan)

So I have a question for people who lives FAR away from US.
When you pull host, does it take forever to fill up a lobby?

    P.S.
I heard Dutch Guy(Netherlands) and DesertFalcon(NZ) have solid connections.
    Do you use optical fibers?

If fiber helps then I'll buy it.
I'm sick of getting grappled while jumping.

Yeah it does take forever to fill up a lobby, Desert doesn't have optic i'm not sure about dutch.

I think it distance does play a role in how quickly a lobby fill i've seen a friend fill a lobby in a minute or so and he was located in ohio

As you know, I have a pretty solid host. I live in Ohio, and I have a 3 meg upload 15 meg download. Sometimes my lobbies fill up really quickly, sometimes they take forever. It really depends on how many people are playing and how many are looking for a game.

If distance or region has anything to do with finding a game, it really wouldn't surprise me. I play with people from Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Massechusets all the time by random chance. Those 4 states I mentioned are really close together, and they could be considered a region.

Even though I am pared up with a lot of people close to me, I have also been pared with people from the UK, Maryland, California, and Florida who are not close to me all the time.

Doesn't take long for my lobbies to fill up and it seems I play with people pretty out there location wise so I dunno. As far as fibers not sure what they will do for you but it's worth a try I guess.

(Surprised I didn't post a picture? Yeah me too.)

Lobbies stay empty on my host. It's primary based around your upload speed but distance pays a part too ( I'm in seattle.)

I figure if anyone lives near the Virginia region, their connection is crap. People can join my games, but my host has some of the worst lag on the planet.

    Maybe this is the answer.
My good buddy Crimsonskull117's host is ALWAYS like this. He lives in sunny California.

I don't think distance plays a part but upload definately does. My old connection had <1 upload & lobbies never filled but my new one... still not fantastic but a constant 2mg fills up in no time at all & with people in the US & all over the EU ( I'm in Wales: the thorn in Englands side ;) )

    You've just saved my life.
    I'll definitely buy HIKARI fiber.

    Upload speed?

Well there we go Pyre. Now I know why my host lobbies die. Barely .61MB to a server in the same state?

Holy sh*t that's bad, but your ping isn't too bad considering :?
Waiting for Ploomboom to post his even worse connection
Edit - does that say faster than 79% of the US? Jesus: no wander I lag like hell with a US host. And they accuse us brits of having welfare broadband!!! Even mine pisses all over that. I guess you're like me though with no fibre-optic in your area :(

Hoang, you have the worst upload speed ever. You should upgrade it(for free) and abuse the host power.

It means I do not want to play on your host.

I wish I could get bitten by a radioactive host. I promise to remember the golden rule: with great host power comes great responsibility.

But I guess at least my ping helps explain why I haven't just given up and thrown my Xbox out the window.
