For me, my favorite planet size is about 800 or so. 750 to 850 I'd say.

I like these planets because they're not too big and not too small.

Mainly, they're not too small that one mistake can completely screw you over, and not too big so they take forever.

With this planet size, I find that there's more strategy involved than smaller planets and there's enough room to recover from mistakes.

    What about you?

    i prefer planetsize around 400.
its action packed with low travel time and takes short time to finish the game.
the bigger the planet, the harder to handle.
im trying to adept to larger planets as im getting a better player.

    1v1 500 to 700
    2v2 600 to 1000
    3v3 OVER 9000

Im playing better, the bigger the planet gets. I can play out my eco better on those planets and make up for less unit control speed compared to other players^^

It's a nerd joke in reference to dragonball z.

Although, I bet such a size will be feasible eventually. Maybe?

Dragonball Z has nothing to do with Pokemon.

Rabbit trails are more interesting than original topics.

Besides, a new batch of people will be waking up soon. Hopefully they'll have some new thoughts.

    What? Nine thousand!??

Smaller planets can be more fun and action packed.
If you handle your moves carefully, expand with caution, you can pull off quite a few interesting stunts.
The player who manages the best expansion tends to win. Unless picked off by a nuke or killsat.

If you're on a small planet and laser satellites are in play, then you're doing something wrong. Nukes also tend to be a rarity on small planets. But laser satellites... yeah. Doing something wrong.

1180, why? I dunno I like massing crazy amounts of units? lol. Most of the systems I create are single planet or two planet systems. The second planet is always large enough it can't be easily turtled so invading is possible.

Hmmm this is a good topic
It depends on the type of play you want.
A size 360 planet is great for furious battles.
BUT a size 800 planet with lots of water making islands is also just as awesome.
I think it totally comes down to what kind of battle people want to have.
A small battle or EPIC battle will need different sized and biomed planets to really be effective.

I remember TA's larger maps were flagged because they required a 32MB system.

If PA gets much bigger, it'll have special systems that require a 32GB system.

planetsize influences the ratio of micro / macro.
the bigger the planet the more important macro becomes.
