What type of tournaments are you looking for? Part 4

This got brought up...time to vote on it.

Option three sounds funny and kinda fits my current situation.
Minus the whole team part.

One question here, how would we get the money to you? Would there be some sort of MS point button we had to hit or would we have to hand it to you in person? I personally wouldn't mind the handing it to you much but I live only like four hours away from Ubers home base, and I think the people who live the 5+ hours might have a problem.

I love that you are thinking about hand delivering. It would be something through this website if it ever happened. I am just merely seeing what the community is thinking currently.

Don't make people pay, or it won't be successful. Straight up. Other than maybe 3-4 teams that feel that have a realistic chance at winning the prize, no one else would sign up. Why pay for something you feel you have no chance of winning?

If that means no prize, then so be it. With a community of this size, playing for fun and bragging rights should be enough. No reason to have huge prizes (even if you don't have to pay tbh). I doubt anyone here believes one day they'll be a pro MNC player... Honestly, all I want is a well organized tournament with lots of teams.

Plus the economy is bad now.

BUT! It would be cool to have seperate tournaments.
Free Tournaments: Consists of people having fun and bragging rights.
Payed Tournaments: Consists of small and big prizes ranging from peanut butter/ MNC shirts, to MNC merch (statues/posters) and Cash.

A little of everything for everyone, But honestly, I'll throw in a few bucks if it were to only end up to be Payed Tournaments, just need to find out how to use paypal first :]

A community is a community, will be supportive for whatever direction Uber takes.

Just make the entry fee something like 5 bucks a person.. If people don't put up that amount they're just sad. Hell I'm pretty sure 1 person from each team would be able to pay for the entire team without it hurting their wallet too much.

I'd rather see more people in the tournament then see them for cash. I don't think its the amount of money that would keep people away, more the hassle of sending funds.

I like the 1 vs. 100 idea. It was free to play, but people could earn MS points as prizes. I believe this will get the maximum exposure.

agreed. biggest turn out when you dont have to pay to play, yet you get some form of prize in return. $15 is pretty easy for most tournament organizers to come up with. and thats usually how it is with mid-level tournaments anyway. professional/MLG tournaments are of course so high-level-high-stake that it makes sense they are different. but this isnt Street Fighter 4 at EVO, or Halo Reach on the MLG Channel, or Guitar Hero in an online or regional activision tournament.

If I was good enough to be on a team, I wouldn't mind paying. As long as I knew it went to Uber, and not some huge giant company...


But I'm not on a team, and even if I was I don't think we would have a chance against most of the teams on here.....

Now, here's the deal.

I would mainly participate almost exclusively in free tournaments. Why? Because I don't like the idea of joining a pay to play tourney, lose, and watch that guy get something awesome. I'd feel like I wasted my money. What can I say. I'm a sore loser.

I won't deny that I might give it a shot should I feel I had a decent chance.

The grand prize should be a date with the PitGirls.
