But mainly the first one.

I'd like to see if any modders try to write a traditional single player campaign. Galactic war does look really fun, and I'll play the hell out of it. But I do miss the old story driven campaigns of strategy games past.

Granted I do realize this is openly asking a bunch of weirdos on the internet to write some robot themed fanfic, but that's just a risk I am going to have to take.

I have been to many places on the internet and seen many things, some of them are good, some of them are bad, some of them are kind of gross. It's basically the million monkeys with a million typewriters problem, but on the internet.

Now there are some great indie games and mods out there: Day-Z, Dear Ester, Amnesia, that one Sky Rim mod that lets you drive a car. But to get to those great experiences you are going to have to sift through whatever the other 999,999 monkeys have been up to.

And this is worth doing, but you just have to be aware that the long search is something that you'll have to do if you want to get to the good stuff.

I can tell you right away that PA is not a game that seems to be even capable of ticking the boxes that cause disgusting fan fictions to come into existence. It's safe to assume that when we get fan fictions, there will only be the good and the bad (and the half half), and not the ugly. If I do get into it, hopefully I'll slide towards the good side.

That sounds like a challenge!

Well I have been meaning to learn a new programming language. When the alpha comes out I'll learn some Lua or whatever they end up using. And then we'll see if it's possible to write a steamy tale of forbidden robot love from beyond the stars.

On-topic, I like the idea of the game types that are already discussed, but also having mod tools to make stuff of our own.

Like, say, a mod that (like the Battlezone reboot) was a first/third-person strategy/shooter. Like a Mechassault with RTS elements. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I could see that being fun.

So I don't care as much about the stuff they give us off the bat beyond the SP galactic, MP galactic and ranked stuff, as long as the community has powerful tools to make more stuff later on down the line.

I really liked the last stand from Dawn of War II a similar something for PA could be great and instead of warping in units you could use a off screen transport to drop some tanks or kbots .....

Single player yes it's important but when you have done it (in a matter of hours) what it really stays (for years if the support is good) is the multiplayer!

You forgot 5v5, 6v6, 7x7, 8x8, 9x9, 10v10, 11v11, 12v12, 13v13, 14v14, 15v15, 16v16, 17v17, 18v18, 19v19, 20x20, 21x21, etc. And all permutations, 1v2, 1v2v1, 1v2v2, 1v3v1, Ok I'll stop.
