Start with Meshuggah, the creators of that "genre" of metal. Also look into Animals as Leaders as well as Periphery.
I saw Meshuggah in concert once, when they opened for Tool. A girl in the row behind me described their performance as "biblical." I've never bothered to listen to Meshuggah since.
Other than that, some things that come to mind: - Gru - Cloudkicker - Bulbs soundclick account (think the third time I posted this link on this forum[/url] And for the best place to look for djent (which this basically is, just instrumental) http://got-djent.com/
Beginners guide to metal subgenres. Always listen to anything Stretch says about metal. He knows his ****. I can't personally recommend anything like what's been posted, so have some mainstream metal to make up for it.
Timmy Ted, I ******* love you! The Four Horsemen is among the best metal songs of all time!!! So like here is my subliminal message.... I love and listen(R.I.P Dime!) to any (R.I.P Ronnie James Dio!) and all facets of metal(Loudest Metal Band in the World!). I pay my dues and respects (NEW YORK!!) to the old and I evolve and grow with the new. If it's heavy it is for me. Have Fun! *That last sentence is void because I am tired.
Stretch, you checking out any shows? I want to go to anthrax/testament, but I plan on seeing FFDP/All that Remains/Hatebreed
poor mofo. I saw Iron Maiden when they came to Tampa. But I missed out on floor tix. I hate seats, so unfun.
I knew most of those bands before that game. Though the soundtrack was one of the main reasons I got the game. It kinda sucked that the music would only play while in the car so most of my time was spent just driving around running sh!t over.
Ya I enjoyed looking at everything, and having no HUD at all made each screenshot an album cover. Now I want to run s*** over
Iron Attack! and Kissing the Mirror are the only two groups I know of. I sort of just stumbled across both while looking for the Touhou OST's. They're two of my favorite bands period now. There should be around 30 albums between the two of them, though there are a few are of questionable quality(namely, any with vocals).
