Self-explanatory question, heh. What if you run out of resources, you lose your base and every unit you have but your Commander. Are you pretty much considered dead at that moment or can you rebuild somehow?

(Sorry if this was answered somewhere else)

Well the Commander should have SOME level of resource generation, and you don't RUN out of resources, Mass Points are/should be infinite(barring planet destruction) so unless you lose them all via combat you won't run out and if ALL your mass points are TAKEN from you, chances are you won't last long enough to worry about rebuilding to be honest.

Most cases, I would imagine most people would just gg, but maybe you could sneak onto an uninhabited planet and restart in secret, because of the flux economy system, you wouldn't run out as Mike mentioned.

But then, how would you get there in the first place? Anyway nothing would 'happen' you would just be left with what you started with and would be severely out gunned by the players left in your game. Same with FA.

Will the commander in PA be more useful than in Supcom? Meaning will it be possible to make him Offensive, Defensive, or a Fast builder? I always enjoyed having these options bc it made gameplay varied & could create new strats for every game.

I suspect this kind of thing actually could occur in large free-for-all games on big enough maps. Your main base falls, you launch a rocket right before that happens, by the time you touch down nearly all your assets are destroyed. The player who killed you won't know where you went, honestly, or may be busy with other players. Your odds of winning are pretty bad, but I wouldn't say impossible, especially with the ability to destroy planets.

You may have no base, but then shortly after that the other two players destroy eachother's planets, all of a sudden you're in a nearly equal position. Battlefield destruction means that not all battles end with the winner stronger.

malorn your description is what epic games are made of lol I had so many of those on supcom... haha Can anyone confirm or deny my question above? Also, curious whats the status on underwater bases? Crossing fingers that this is in game...Imagine being able to build underwater bases or even a far off base on a distant moon your enemy has no idea about!

That's an awesome reply, thank you. Hehe

The same thing that happens when you start with nothing but the Commander.

I concur! It has always disappointed me that a 'guerilla' / 'hide and seek' style of gameplay is basically impossible in any RTS. This sounds awesome!
