Hey guys, one of the things I liked the most about the Uber dev team(Besides them just being generally awesome) where the livestreamed playtests that Garat and Meta did. It really gave us a chance to see the new builds and just ask general questions and have a good time.

The last stream I can find was of Meta showing some balance tests(And in the process figuring out that he had accidentally broken the twitch streaming feature, that was funny).

My guess as to why they are not going on anymore is because they are really busy getting ready for 1.0, but still I miss them. After 1.0 will the livestreams come back?

I think there's a variety of reasons for the lack of livestreams.

They have a lot of secret projects in the works. They're tired of criticism. They were moving offices. They are prepping for PAX. They are prepping for 1.0.

Crunch mode, big time. Plus a lot of what they've been doing lately is 'repaying technical debt', which isn't probably very interesting to talk about in a stream.

Speak for yourself! I loved the technical streams and discussions the most.

I'd wager a combination of crunch time, wanting to hold back some juicy infos for a big release, and the ever increasing likilihood of drama following any new information. Totally understandable, and I suspect we'll see a return to casts after launch.

I'm going to throw my speculation in the pot and say that they did the live-streams because they needed to show you how the development of the game was going to appease their backers and attract new ones. Now they are gearing up for release, they are putting that effort (if you can call a couple of guys in tshirts sitting on a couch effort ;) ) into their release marketing strategy.

Basically, they don't need to so they ain't, and yes it's a shame because I'd gather some friends to watch them with to get them interested in the game and now the game has changes so much and I don't think there's a good video out there I can use to showcase what it looks like. A video on the technical work going into the graphics (from an end user perspective) would be very useful I think.

The technical live streams for me where always the coolest to watch.

After they are done working their asses off I would love to see more. I think it was really awesome for Uber to do and I hope it continues.

Also office tour? Please? All forest's and eka's tweets ands pictures of how awesome it looks are making me jelly.

They've been heavily concentrating on getting the game done. Primarily.

Also, getting us those builds in the form of PTE kinda defeated the point of showing things on the streams as we could try them ourselves.

And they've been working on less flashy stuff, and concentrating on performance and background stuff a lot more, which doesn't show off well on a stream.
