Do you believe PA should try to break the 4th wall more often? What do you think that makes a game immersive? Is immersion actualy important in RTS games? Something wich popped up and was curious what everyone thought about it.
Whenever I think about immersion and strategy games, the MechCommander intro runs through my head. The RTS genre has never really been one in which I've cared for immersion, but I do think atmosphere with regards to music and sound effects is incredible important, as are breaking the barriers to entry in terms of the games interface and usability.
I feel RTS is more fun when you're invested in the universe. I'd give a reason but I can't put it into words right now
That video linked me to a teaser for a MW5. Am excite. Unless they dumb it down for modern audiences. Which they likely will with it being on console
That'd be MechWarrior Online which has been in Beta for a while now. It's awesome, but the microtransactions are completely P2W, which sucks. Gameplay is definitely pure MW though.
' Yeah, I was given a steam rant by how predatory some of the pricing is on just the paint schemes along. I was in the closed beta though, and couldn't run it for sh*t on my laptop xD
