10/10 highly professional. To be fair, they did say sorry and are going to address this: http://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/2vcztb/apologies_for_scam_citizen/ It's not that hard to follow the "Journalism flowchart" Are you righting an opinion piece? No? Stick to the facts and keep your feelings out of it! Also I'm going to blame Tony Abbott for this. Just because I want him far far FAR away from office.
Seems a little overreaction to like, the tiniest little text box on the bottom of a print games magazine. Or is this the whole "Ethics in Games Journalism" thing all over again?
As far as I know that's it but the point is if you're releasing publications that supposedly inform people you should have a standard.
I have a basic tier pledge in the game IIRC - haven't touched it yet and probably won't until there's something a bit more tangible. I do find the incredible hype train behind it absolutely ridiculous. I managed to sneak into the unveiling of the dogfighting module event at PAX East 2014 and the atmosphere was unlike anything I've ever experienced. They spent two hours bugfixing on stage in front of a club full of people who were there just for the event - can only imagine what was running through their minds at the time. And no-one cared, they were just happy that Chris Roberts was on the stage. It's like a strange cult. Anyway, the full game should be fun, they've managed to do something truly unique with their funding model. Let's hope all those millions don't go to waste.
They didn't even get the information right. None of the commercials are prerendered, it's all done in-engine. :/ When the FPS module comes out can I shoot you in zero-g?
I lol'd people should have more humor also I am quite sure there will be a lot of flames about that game in the future. There is just no way that kind of giant project is going to work out perfectly or finish in time. Whenever that may be.
What exactly is the issue? I'm (more than) a bit slow sometimes, but I think the little pictures with the pro-con thing is really funny.
It's the Hype that puts me off the most, and yeah, there's a pretty scary degree of absolute praise and devotion surrounding the whole game. It's offputting, particularly now that there HAVE been major Kickstarter / Crowdfunding failures and I can't look at the game without getting the overwhelming feeling that it's too easy for them to have already bitten off more than they can chew.
I want the game to succeed bit I am worried they are being too ambitious with so many elements and systems. I worry that all the systems will be paper thin without much depth. I am also not big on simulator games that take themselves too seriously. I like to poliot capitol ships and the like. I am still hoping it comes out well with all the money they have.
Idk, people should be more practical with gaming. Its a hobby of fun. I had fun with the building of PA. Idk why others can't just accept that. And if it's their bag of tea cool and if not, just shut up. Honestly, Star Citizen isn't my bag of tea, but that page was retarded. Biggest words on the page is "In space everyone can hear you scream" which is a lie, they actually had the taste to label a game in bold font something that isn't it's title in Scam Citizen, and the reviews are terrible.
