Just curious how various the water depth is going to be, and how it will affect gameplay. A basic example is how deep can the commander traverse under water? How shallow can water be b4 subs and boats are blocked off, etc. If this has been discussed before i apologise:) also plz provide the link:)

    Short answer....depends on the map.

There are a lot of specifics, like your point regarding commanders having a Max depth, that really can't be nailed down until in can be thoroughly tested.

I don't think there should be a max depth for where seafloor units can go. Just slopes and underwater canyons that are too steep for them to traverse. Makes a lot more sense.

What I would like to see is a better handling of where water and sub units can go. In supcom large water and sub units like the atlantis and tempest could easily clip through the seafloor while smaller units would refuse to sail closer to the coast even with lots of room to spare.

Technically that can still allow for a facsimile of max depth just by putting such slopes X distance from all land masses and such.

But regardless I do agree there shouldn't be an Arbitrary Max Depth, many maps in SupCom2 had Arbitrary max depth and it was awkward and annoying from what I recall.
