Hi there, I am just going to put war thunder out there to try and increase the player base. I Would recommend this game to any fans of the IL-2 games or the Wings of prey games. Also if you are into World of tanks or any Navy simulator war thunder also will contain an army and navy feature (not implemented yet). so go check it out here at: http://warthunder.com/en/news/186/current/ and if you want to sign up use this link: http://warthunder.com/en/registration?r=919162 because it gives you an extra 40 Golden eagles (premium currency) to use however you want. so go check it out and I hope to see you in-game!
The game is lots of fun but boy I tell ya the controls are horrible! Thankfully I am able to use my Xbox controller. The rest of the game just seems "eh." Though like I said, still a really fun game.
well, the joystick controls are very hard to get used to (try aiming with that), but keyboard and mouse controls aren't too bad, aim with the mouse, W to accelerate S to decelerate A&D to roll. not too bad. But then again I am not a console gamer so I am not used to using analogue stick controls...
Yeah it basically comes down to me not being proficient with the mouse and keyboard. I remember starting out using m+kb and would find myself with my camera all messed up during Dogfights and would lose simply because I crashed into the mountain or something. Since I switched to my controller that happens FAR less. Yeah it still happens.
I don't know if I'd compare it to the IL-2 games, as it seems a lot lighter as a flight sim. (Perhaps that IL-2: Birds of Prey atrocity that was recently released.) I'm still waiting for a decent flight sim for the PC that isn't chock full of DRM like the DCS series. Come on, Lead Pursuit! We need a Falcon 5.0!
well there are historical and full real missions, as well as an arcade mode where everything is simplified, and it is made by Gaijin, the people who brought us IL-2. but the DCS series although riddle with DRM is the most realistic sim I have ever played
