Add a systeem so you can invite your friends and the host can join a server and all auto join.

atm its pritty hard to join with like 4 friends cause servers fil up pritty fast:p

Also a /record or something would be cool to make frag movies and stuff and ofc for match its also a good thing.

Spec mode would be cool so matches can be shoutcasted.

just a couple idee's will be adding more

That's what Steamworks is supposed to be for, but it's a bit dodgy at the moment (no server info - not responding when trying to join someone, no server info to see if their server even has any room, some servers ask for a password in the Steam overlay, but aren't passworded through MNC etc.)

Probably more doable perhaps if there's a different "game mode" simply called spectate, where a special dedicated server is linked to the "live" dedicated server, which (enabled by admin, not default so it doesn't kill system resources) records a match in progress, and is then streamed/replayed by the spectator server once the match has ended. If the next match ends before the previous one is finished streaming, the stream will finish first then the next match is broadcast.

However, implementing this would be tricky. If you wanted the recorded match to be streamed, it would be better if the specate server was run on the same box, with local access to the same hard drive. But if it's the same box, then presumably it's also on the same bandwidth, which would cost more for admins to run or the live server would become laggy.

Can't quite remember how SourceTV (HL2 etc.) manages it, but it depends if there's general interest anyway.

However, if a way was figured out, then you could integrate this feature into Steamworks in an unusual way, by having live announcements made to a server Steam group, that links players straight to a "semi-live" broadcast where the match has been played, and commentators can log onto the spectate server to narrate the game and control the cameras for viewers. Additional features such as replays and fancy highlighting effects would be so rad too.

I mean that like server is 13/14 slots so 1/2 specs can watch and 1 can stream it then to exp justin.tv or w/e and shoutcast:) not like hltv but it would be sick to have something like hltv in it tho xD
