It could just be me, but I'm starting to get a little annoyed seeing a gunner or a tank walking the edge of a wall. Reversely I hate when I'm a gunner and I'm jumping down going to do a ground slam only for my foot to be barely on the edge of a bridge so I just wasted the slam and didn't pancake anyone. In my head, I can hear a voice screaming "THAT SHOULDN'T BE PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE!!! There is no way a man that size can keep his balance on an inch thick wall, and especially not while firing a gun." Also how can the edge of a toe hold an armoured man on the edge of bridge without, it is just physically impossible, it isn't even a balance issue.

I don't really have a problem with an assassin doing it, I expect her to be able to, I mean she is meant to be light and nimble. And I could kind of see an assault getting up there, but lose some accuracy from onto of a wall.

What i don't get is when i put a bullet in someone's leg, he doesn't even flinch.

Or when i am shooting the hell out of someone, then he runs around the corner, and a few seconds later he comes back full health! What the hell is that about!

And then i meet this woman, and suddenly she dissappears and stands behind me to kill me. How in the world is that physically possible!!!!

There is a certain level of suspension of disbelief I can deal with. I can accept a lot of the silliness, the healing, the amazing powers and so forth. But walking the tops of walls breaks that.

One thing Iv found with the tank is that if you charge off a ledge you cant jetpack for as long as if you just jump. Seems a little strange, could just be lag from playing with american hosts all the time

The gunner and tank are both wearing armor with jump jets. The armor includes tron lights so you know it's pretty awesome. I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and say the power armor has computer stabilizers in it that allow them to balance on impossible perches.

It's also a result of using the unreal engine, and is acknowledged by the developers.

I don't know...that is a weak argument "the power armor has computer stabilizers, but not an auto aim lock."

The real argument obviously is that programming-wise this is the easiest solution. Sure, you normally cannot stand on the very edge, but falling through it would be impossible as well. You also have not given an alternative in your posts.

What would be possible is a sliding off movement, which would still allow a player to keep standing on the edge while counter-acting that movement, which will not be easy. Much harder is it to actually make this work, so do not get your hopes up.

It's just good strategy. Like bunny hopping and spawn camping.

I agree, the only person that should be able to run ontop of the walls is the assassin, since when can a big hawaiin balance on a three inch thick wall while firing two miniguns?

It sounds like you've never been to hawaii, because that's basically all you ever see over there.

Standing on the walls just makes good sense to avoid assassins. I almost never touch the ground when I play a team that has assassins. It's awesome, they can't grapple me. It's part of the game and probably isn't going anywhere.

just another one of the countless topics about 'you're doing something that makes it harder for me to kill you, so it must be wrong'

Get better people! Walk on some walls, hop some bunnies, I dunno.... Fight fire with fire

Actually, bdcjacko has two partners who use this regularly when he plays in parties. One's been lost to Reach, but the other still uses it. He's complaining about something where any corrective measure would weaken his own team and make things harder for him.

It's nice to just say "everyone with a complaint must suck at the game," but it's not very intelligent at all. I'm glad Uber has such rabid fanboys, but it's that fanboy mentality that makes this place so god damned hostile.

Seriously, think before you post. This e-diarrhea needs to stop.

What does it say that it virtually eradicates an entire class?

This is a physics issue with the engine. We would love to fix it but it would have required a pretty big overhaul to do it right. That being said, there might be other ways to solve it in future updates.

Actually standing on a wall won't save you from a sin who isn't a retard, just makes you annoying as crap

I partly agree tho, the lift of the jet pack lets gunners get into some wacky places they probably shouldn't have access to.

Have no problem with other classes doing it, seems simply tactical
