I love the titel of this threat because there will be no way to not click on it  But i´m don´t looking for many clicks on my post but i want to ask who knows that he will make something like a blog or similar with videos & pictures of his/her alpha experience? Or is there already a website or such which will do this? I´m lookin forward if someone would do some footage.
There's a full list of these on the backers forum. Ask Cheeseless if he will share the list here or whether he'd prefer to keep the list on the backers' forum.
I'll copy the list we've set up in the backer forum here as soon as the Alpha starts. It has a big bunch of people and more are being added every couple days. We've got Twitch streamers and Youtubers, and i think you'll find it sufficient to sate your thirst for Alpha footage.
I'll be pumping out daily videos once I get the alpha key, PM me if there's anything in particular you want to see.
Join the hype neutrino! This game is gonna be so awesome it's off the chart, going through the roof, crashing through the moon, going past Pluto and reaching for the stars!
Clearly having the Commander warp to the opposite side of a planet is a feature. Keeps the enemy on his toes! Just remember that bugs are only fondly remembered if they're fixed. Like in laws, they're best appreciated from a vast distance.
There there, most of the people that get the alpha are so excited about what they've already seen that they'll be thrilled just to have a (probably) working executable on their PC. It won't matter how broken it is; they will find a way to be excited about it. ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN, CHOO CHOO. (kidding) -Whiskey
You're too worried man, though that might be a positive thing spurring improvement and advancement at a fast rate ofc If i see PA alpha videos pop up on youtube i'll be extatically excited, even if they're not that much more polished than what we saw in the latest livestream combat demo etc. Thing is, we understand it's real alpha. We understand bugs and development. We're hyping the alpha up because of our excitement for the potential of the game, not for the exact limited state of the game at this very second Even seeing a buggy crack appearing on a planet with glitchy polygons and units getting stuck inside, is still exciting. Because it gives a taste of the possibility of the final product. Possibilities that are beheaded and thrown in the gutter by most AAA devs these days in fear of not conforming to the usual underwhelming formula. Press E to open door. Watch cutscene. Press Left Mouse button to win QTE. Watch Credits. I'd take a buggy glitchy terrain deformation after a glitchy unfinished nuke anyday over that. Trust me. I was in the Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and Anarchy Online betas day one, i know how awful bugs can be xD
IDK, i don't think the devs are the deluded ones here. there's definitely going to be people with alpha access that will come on the forums and make some misinformed complaints. maybe it won't be any of the regular forum readers but the vast majority of backers don't regularly read the forums.
Not at all. I will be constantly reiterating the early unfinished alpha status of the game to avoid dismissive people thinking it is too buggy. I assure you that everyone NOT in the alpha will be desperate to see what the game looks like, plays like and feels like. I'm sure they will also love to be kept abreast of new feature additions, bug fixes and development of game mechanics. I think it's a great way to keep all the non-alpha backers excited and informed about PA development and of course hopefully get new people interested in the game!
There'll be crashes, freezes, units will fall into holes only to reappear randomly all over the planet, it won't be optimised so your FPS will be in the dirt, units won't obey orders in a timely fashion, units will get stuck in the terrain features, units will get stuck in buildings, units will get stuck on the "off ramp" to factories, units will randomly get stuck in the floor... Balance and unit AI will be whack and someone will pwn you with an army of just one unit type, units will fire their weapons at the enemy but the trajectory will be all wrong, units will fire their weapons at passing flora and fauna, units will fire randomly at the floor... Planets will look like dirty orbs of dirt, Decals will be obviously tiling, units will refuse to render properly, units will be built and avoid walking on flat terrain and instead try to climb the nearest mountain all the while sporting textures that make them randomly look like the floor... And that's IF the game runs on your system and doesn't cause your PC to fall off the table and onto the floor... Don't even get me started on what will happen to Poor Uber's servers once 8000 people try to connect on the same day. I'm pretty certain that they'll fall through the floor and onto a different, lower floor... --- On a serious note. The Alpha Testing isn't going to be a "Game" guys. It's a job.
I think with videos and streams it's the same as with most other topics: quality over quantity - getting a few first impressions out: ok, why not (it probably should give a halfway positive first look) - getting infos on certain bugs to the devs: sure, that's what a testing phase is about - getting daily random session streams of an unfinished game: waste of time (at least of mine, I don't care to wade through tons of redundant video snippets to find the fresh information needle in a haystack of videos) But since this is the internet, feel free to send any random thought in video form to youtube.
