Hi all - game is looking great after the last patch (as always) keep up the good work guys! I was just pondering how it is currently easy to develop a runaway economy and how it seems to negate the need to basic power plants and basic mexes. How would we go if, in order to build basic units from your factory, it was required to have at least 1 basic power plant per two basic factories (this is just an example). This would not limit how many factories you could build, but just how many you can have building at once. Also, I am not talking about adjacency. As example: you have 10 basic factories, but only 2 basic power plants, then on 4 of the factories would be able to produce units. The factories and power plants could be on different planets. The same would work for advanced as well, except it would be advanced power plants. For orbital, you could have the GGPP (Gas Giant Power Plant) as a requirement for Offensive orbital units (Laser Satellite etc) and also for the Halleys Planetoid Engines. You could have a little ui tab on the side of the screen telling you how many Basic/Adv/GasGiant Power plants you have in total and how many basic/adv factories (there would be no need to distinguish between Air/Veh/Bot) This is just a very rough idea that would need refinement. Thoughts?
The number of power plants you have does limit the amount of factories you can have running efficiently. If you have 1000 energy income it doesn't matter if you have 5 or 10 factories producing Doxes. They will still be built at the same rate but in the case of 10 factories it will take longer for each individual Dox to finish.
