Hello, I have just received my key and I would like to convert it to use in Steam, but I would like to know if I could still use the normal installer without Steam. The reason for this is that I like the convenience of Steam, but since I am mainly on Linux (I still keep Windows for games, but I use it less and less) I don't really trust Steam's stability yet, so I would rather have a backup option in case of problems..
Yes. When converted, the steam key works on steam and the launcher key I believe is still used to activate your account the first time. When your account is first activated, its good to go, whether you log into either. Also, your Uber Store Account Page should store your keys in your history.
If you'll convert to Steam you'll have to link your UberNet and Steam accounts: https://uberent.com/user/linksteam Current version of PA don't yet integrated brand new Steamworks SDK, so Linux version don't have automatic account linking yet.
It seems my account was already linked (I created this account some time ago to try SMC). However, when I start the game it says that my gamekey has been converted to Steam and I should start the game on Steam to activate (even thought I have just done that), if I have problems I should contact support at e-mail. In the end it says it seems I don't own a copy of the game. Any idea of what I should do to activate the game in Steam?
1. open your steam client 2. lower left corner has a little " + activate game on steam " 3. click that and follow the instructions 4. game should be activated, install as usual
