Its hopeful, id take it. Even if it's a placeholder where it just appears from one planet to the next, no animation or whatever.

That's pretty much what I'm hoping for. Although I'd take anything right now- I'm having weekly update withdrawal! Unfortunately Ill be stunned if we get anything in the next few days because of PAX.

Updates do not have a schedule. The release when they're ready. That is due to Uber's development method.

Uber do not work on Sunday. Patches aren't weekly. Uber are at PAX Prime this weekend.

My guess is that next update may be for beta starting up.

Yep, although Jon did say in that twitchtv cast thing that he sees beta as when all the major parts (multiple planets etc) are working. But if they've said Sept 6 for the beta on Steam, I dare say they'll kick into beta without all those parts in place. Just guessing of course.

Our anticipated schedule is as follows:

Alpha Early Access Begins: June 16th, 2013 - Alpha access may be restricted to online connection required

Beta Early Access Begins: September 6th, 2013 - Beta access may be restricted to online connection required

Retail Access Begins: December 15th, 2013

Yep I know it says anticipated, but the steam crowd have been a bit on the complaining side after the $90 alpha thing (which uber managed really well even though I'm sure it was a pain in the butt for them). So I'd imagine they'll keep within some reasonable distance of those dates. Alpha, beta are just labels anyway, it'll become pretty clear when it's done.

I actually think it wouldn't hurt to let the beta people in soonish so there are a few more people online. 7am my time (sydney +10)there are often 70 or so, but at 7pm my time it's more like 20-30 and it can be hard to get a game started.

This is the reason i've never ended up playing anything but sandboxes. Sydney also. I'll be on the look out for you glin... (I'm really bad)

We were trying to get a build out before PAX, but it wasn't ready. Builds are not weekly. It's when they are ready.

And beta starts when interplanetary and asteroids are in. That is the "feature complete" we are aiming for - all major features at least roughly sketched in.

assuming that those 2 important features wont get in this week, you should update your beta start time in Steam, otherwise some haters gonna hate^^
