Since the patch came out, I am getting the following error when logging in. Error connecting to UberNet: Unknown SSl protocol error in connecting to uberent.com:443 I have a Windows 8 machine. I have turned off Anti-virus and Firewall. but nothing seems to work.
Please answer few questions: You using Uber launcher or Steam? Is your Windows 8 32-bit or 64-bit? Do you have something especial in your network configuration? E.g proxy server, vpn, etc? Also if you run 64-bit operation system can you please open folder where game installed, open "bin_x86" subfolder and try to run PA.exe from here? Then try login and post here about results. This simple check should identify if that bug specific of 64-bit build. PS: Some heavily tech info: Error you see it's cURL/OpenSSL error which used for communications with UberNet in last two builds.

E.g proxy server, vpn, etc? No, just pc plug into linksys router to internet. I looked in the setting to see if there is a section on ports. nothing is in the block section. I did launch it from the "bin_x86" subfolder... same error message. I also tried running as Administrator.. no luck there either. I attached a screenshot of the error message
Thank for answers, I sure you have some very especial bug of CURL/SSL on Windows 8, want to believe somebody from Uber read this topic. Currently I only have one idea about what else you can do: try to run PA.exe (no mater 64-bit or 32-bit) in compatibility mode with Windows 7.
finally found it. It was the stupid ESET anti-virus. there was a separate section buried in the advance settings that was scanning the ports. port 443 was on the banned/filtered list. The must of added the ssl port thing in the last update or something triggered the ESET app to start blocking it.
I believe I'm having the same problem. Every time I launch the game I read the agreements and hit accept yet an Error comes up stating "SSL error port 443", along with "can't connect to Ubernet. could you explain to me step by step process on how to open port 443 in E-set? Would be very helpful. Thank you.
