so me and my friends get about an hour into a game until it freezes as if it were paused.

units dont move, particles dont move, animations dont run. but i can still select stuff and give it orders.

why the hell is this happening???

That usually means you lost the internet connection. But if it happened to everybody at the same time, then it probably means that the server has crashed (or maybe got stuck).

its never loss of internet. im not the only one who gets this problem and i have a theory: the more units, the slower the game. this happens especially when we are against several absurd AI.

Well, yes, but that should only slow down the server, not completely freeze it. How often does this happen to you? And do you have replay IDs for those games?

well like i said, it only occurs when we do big games (5v5 absurd AI)

there are no replays of the games because the match doesnt end. hence the freezing.

Ok, then it was definitely the server that crashed. The lobby IDs would still show up in the PA logs. There would be lines such as this:
    Code:
    [19:26:40.546] INFO [JS/game] :12: lobby_id: "11623032235745648888"

Those logs can be found here:
    Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log
    OSX: ~/Library/Application Support/Uber Entertainment/Planetary Annihilation/log
    Linux: ~/.local/Uber Entertainment/Planetary Annihilation/log

It won't help you of course, but it may help Uber figuring out why servers crash. Maybe they just exceeded their memory limits.
