I noticed this frustrating bug today. I had amassed a sizeable army and I was on my way to lay waste to the AI's base when most of my units got stuck in an innocuous ditch and never to move again. Kind of annoying when 70% of your invasion force gets taken out of the picture at a crucial stage. Happened in several areas of this lava world.
