Unit and Building upgrade trees.

Mostly a question for the devs but opinions are welcome too.

Will there be an upgrade system, for instance have an upgrade tree for t1 tanks, you spend time and resources researching an upgrade to increase hp or speed or damage or rate of fire, etc. Will this be existent in the game or is this something someone might make in a mod, another idea is to have separate trees focused on different aspect and once you start one tree you are stuck with that one. So let me know what you think.

Why upgrade a tank when you can just build a different tank?
