just a quick question about the economy that I couldn't manage to find during my searches on the forum.

With the massive distances between planets will the economy on the starting planet be instantaniously linked to the economies on the other celestial bodies? or will they be responsible for their own energy and material production.

I'm personally in favour of a devided economy because then if your home base is under extreme pressure and their power reserves are being strained then the other bases throughout the system will remain unaffected and possibly provide covering lunar artillery fire etc.

it could also bring on the potential for interrupting metal or energy transport between colonies and theft in transport.

It would make things more complicated but I've seen it done really well in the past especially if there's a way to automate it like in the old game "Nemesis of the Roman Empire"

I REALLY hope they keep with the global econ, or at least let us have the option of choosing.

Local economy would be very interesting as a mod, I hope something like that is possible. It would probably slow the standard game to a stalemate a lot of the time, however.
