Also, if I can go mildly off-topic. God damn am I getting tired of seeing anime ******* everywhere these days. It's becoming the dubstep of animation. It all looks the same and is being shoved into everything for no reason. ARGH

1.) Make Game that barely passes the test for "it's okay on steam"
2.) Make sure to advertise it as a hentai at the same time
3.) Have people on random places all over the internet talk about your game. Even in RTS forums.

If Steam wants to sell Hentai games (and honestly I'd rather they didn't) I just hope they have the sense to not plaster it all over the front page.

Well the artwork of the advertisements you might see probably is pretty harmless, so I doubt that.
Ads have to be suitable for all ages or not?

The not-quite-hentai-but-pretty-damn-close games already draw awkward questions when people look at my screen. Don't need another one with "KLIMAX KITTY XXX" stuck over the top.

I don't think any not-quite-hentai-but-pretty-damn-close game on steam (well at least I haven't seen any ad and I do browse the store once in a while and steam knows that I like anime stuff so I guess it would push it on me) has ads that would raise questions. Well maybe if you open the page of the games in question and fullscreen their ad-video. Do you do that?

Well for one thing, if Steam starts allowing hentai onto its service, it will start being overflowed with Newgrounds-tier flash games made for the purpose of getting a large amount of money off of desperate horny teens/adults.
Steam is already filling up with crappy indie games. Do we really need an influx of crappy porn games?

Off-topic, but I never understood why the majority of games are so violent. I have no problem at all with violent games and I even enjoy them from time to time, but I just don't know how it became the norm. I'm not talking cartoony parody violence like smnc or anything - there are games out there that are really dark.

Well there are a lot of not so violent games as well I think.

The entire "casual" gaming market is non-violent and also huge.
