Last few games since there is little metal now, i was getting annoyed by these half covered metal spots that mocked my while i was trying to keep up my economy. Not asking this to be implemented now, but asking the forums, how hard do you think would it be to code a few lines that just do a check for every metal spot if a small metal extractor can be placed, and if it cant it removes the metal spot. I personally believe that it wouldnt be that hard, but i know too little about programming in games like these. However it could actually help when quickly assessing a location. Extra: Anyone noticed how weird is the word assessing... two double s? i think its the first time ive written it
As of right now discussion about this has come up, especially in threads talking about rebalancing the metal. Uber in their new stream (sep 27th on youtube) said it would change. During one of the threads, nutrino one of uber's programmers, said he will rewrite how metal generates and while doing the redistributions the bugs like metal stuck under a rock or in a crater would be fixed. As of right now, I believe it was a first run pass on the code and needs to go through another (or a few) itterations. Edit: His quote on redoing metal
Thanks for clear answer, glad it will not be a problem in the future. Also i havent seen the livestream. I guess i know what ill be doing for the next half hour
