Hello all, new to this forum, and I didn't find any other post with a problem like my own, but apologies if this has already been discussed. Anyway, within PA I have had multiple attempts to create a custom system, but I have been unable to save any of them - regardless of complexity, size, or requirements (even one moon as a starting planet will not save). I create the system, click the 'Save System' button, and nothing happens. When I go click the 'Close' button it informs me that, "The system has not been saved." If I click the 'Save' button on this screen, again, nothing happens and the system if eventually discarded when I exit. I have currently done the following with no avail: - Start the system as a new system, or as a premade system (neither save, even a premade one with no changes to the system, but a different name.) - Verified the integrity of the game cache (via steam). - Opened the game with and without the steam launcher. - Updated any drivers I can think of (thanks maxpowerz!). I am considering uninstalling and then reinstalling PA, good idea? Any help would be appreciated, thank you! EDIT: No mods are installed, no other programs are running.
I've seen this happen before and I am not sure what causes it, but something in the PA configuration gets messed up somehow. Sometimes this is visible if you have a system for which the name is just a small little square (but sometimes not). You can try clearing your config completely. This will however delete any Galactic Wars, game settings, and any previously downloaded or saved systems. To clear your configuration go to this directory: Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment (just paste that whole thing in the address bar of Explorer) OSX: ~/Library/Application Support/Uber Entertainment Linux: ~/.local/Uber Entertainment Inside that directory, there should be a directory called "Planetary Annihilation". Make sure PA is not running and rename that directory to "Planetary Annihilation.bak". Then start PA again and see if you can save. If that didn't work, you can delete the newly created directory "Planetary Annihilation" and rename the .bak one back to get all of your settings and such back. If it did work, nice! Maybe keep the .bak one around in case somebody from Uber wants it to reproduce this bug.
