Unable to get backing store! PA Titans Crashes Nearly Constantly

In addition to crashing constantly if I reconnect 90% of the time I cannot view any units on the planet.
Any help to solve this? I have removed PA completely and reinstalled it but I have the same issue. I have also tried the --software-ui launch option but that didn't help.

I also got this if I debug in visual studio:
Unhandled exception at 0x00000001403CB7D8 in PA.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x0000000000000040.

I think I may have solved it! I ran the exe as administrator. Hasn't crashed since!!!!

Finally found the fix. Need to run in compatibility mode for Windows 8. Takes a performance hit but doesn't crash.

I am running Windows 10 Pro.
