I apologize if this problem has already been brought up, but it is severely impacting my ability to play the game.

Now, whenever I try to start a game by myself (as in without Xbox Live friends; it still occurs with splitscreen), the waiting process will be about 2 minutes. I am then thrust into the lobby of an empty game, presumably where I am hosting. Now, my gut reaction is to leave and try again, as my connection has a nasty habit of cutting out randomly and would really hate to subject people to migrating hosts.

But after consistently doing this for about a half an hour and not finding a game, I decide to just host a game. Something is better than nothing, right? After a whole hour of sitting in front of my tv, staying in the lobby, and playing my DS, not a single soul joins my game.

Now, I'm not playing in "peak" hours here, but I have played at all hours of the day before without this kind of trouble. And given that I played a lot yesterday (through being invited to a game) when the title update came out, I don't think it's lack of people.

I have tried rebooting my connection, relaunching MNC, and resetting my 360, but to no avail. It seems to me that the only possible way to play a game is to join someone else's party and/or game. Obviously, this is a gigantic pain, as it significantly reduces the time I can play.

My guess is that the scope in which MNC searches for suitable new matches has been drastically reduced, thus limiting the chance of a buggier, laggier match. But in my case, this limits me to never being able to play a match at all.

Hopefully this can be resolved as soon as humanly possible.

    Alexisonfire,

Yes we are adjusting the quality of returned hosts. Where do you live and how good is your net connection?

    Thanks,

    Eka

I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, so my ISP is the (relatively) rare Sasktel. My net connection is fairly stable and has almost no trouble with connecting to most games online in terms of lag and general connectivity issues. Friends of mine that are located in different parts of the continent are not having these isssues, even though they have much worse connections than mine.

I should note that, as I said in my previous post, my connection does cut out, but this is probably only once a day for about 30 seconds. This problem has been persistent for the last two months and its situation has not changed since this error has been occurring, so I doubt it is a factor. I usually host in other games, but I know how dreaded a dropped host can be in MNC, so I don't want others to go through that if it happens (hence my hesitation to host).

    Thank you for your time.
