I'm running PA on ubuntu linux with a low-end GPU. With several thousand units on the field late game I could get 2 or 3 FPS, which is not bad given the quality of my GPU. Until the most recent update I would have to reconnect multiple times before it would load the ingame U.I., and then I could play for about 10-30 mins before the U.I. would crash and I would have to go through the process of reconnecting several times again. However since the update yesterday the U.I. never loads when I jump into a game. It might be this bug, but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated, otherwise I will be unable to play. To be clear, it is only the U.I. that isn't working; I can see the units battling on the field and zoom in and out, but I am unable to select units or give commands.
I tried running the game from the console, and the problem is indeed FS#2392. It happens consistently every time I try to play, so I might be able to help debug it if someone could point my in the right direction. Oddly, other apps such as firefox sometimes get their graphics corrupted when the error occurs. Here's the error in case anyone cares: 4045 06:02:47.893432 W | PID: 4054 | 4054 06:02:47.884092 Requesting resource read for coui://ui/main/game/live_game/img/build_bar/units/build_unit_sample.png with internal id 829 reported FAIL The program 'CoherentUI_Host' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)'. (Details: serial 1297 error_code 10 request_code 130 minor_code 1) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
