I've got another one of the infamous invisible UberLaunchers, but for the life of me I can't figure out why. I've recently reformatted my system and reinstalled everything onto an SSD (which is beautiful, by the way), and I've done my darndest to ensure my drivers etc are up to date.

Searching the forums prompted me to check that I've got Visual C++ 2012 (plus 2010 and 2008) installed, my video drivers are up to date, and .NET 4.5 is installed (though I'm unsure if it's needed anymore?)

I'm essentially running the same system on which I gamed awesomely before with the only difference being the OS drive. I can't seem to figure this out, and would love some help.

    DxDiag below.

    Hello,

Your AMD driver is a few months old:
    Code:
Card name: AMD FirePro V5900 (FireGL V)
    Driver Version: 13.352.1014.0
    Driver Date/Size: 6/22/2014 18:41:54, 1329864 bytes
The only thing is, I can't find any further updates for this card. I checked the AMD website and it says this is the latest driver for this video card.

Also, have you checked your DirectX? That has been a major cause of invisible launchers.

    Download (DX June 2010): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

After download, unzip the file, extract the contents to an accessible directory, then run DXSETUP.exe and follow instructions as displayed.

The video driver was my first stop; it's the same driver I ran the game with previously.

DirectX is another matter; I found that recommended in other threads too, but the June 2010 runtime gives an 'internal system error' when I attempt to install it. Checking the DXLog afterwards reveals an error similar to "cannot install: runtime components have already been installed". Oddly, I can't recall installing the June 2010 Direct X previously; I'll have to look into this further to figure out why.

It's most likely caused by lack of D3D9 runtime so it's what you need to fix.

Unfortunately it's was proved that web installer usually fail to install latest libraries Coherent depend on... :(
For example it's install February runtime, but not one from July, at least it's true on Windows 8/8.1.

Also web installed can't replace corrupt DLLs...

If so, where is the other alternative installer?

If so, why did the OP report that the installer I linked gave an internal system error?

As you said, he could have corrupt DLL files or something is going on with his system.

Thanks Garat - I might give that a shot as I've not tried the web installer yet. Although, given SXX's concerns, what I might just do is remove all DirectX components from my system and reinstall them. And I sure hope I don't have corrupt DLLs. :S

Thanks for the input, guys. Appreciate it.

No idea because it's not problem that occur often (if ever). Likely problem within system, but Windows restore / update usually fix it.

I meant different thing. At least in some cases web installer don't actually trying to check checksum or size of installed D3D DLLs so if there is wrong files (it's happen sometimes, no idea why) it's not going to replace them because it's "thinks" they're already installed.

If installer fail it's likely issue outside of D3D stuff.
