Been bored lately here on the forums so i figured ide make this topic to the community. If u have any questions post them here and ill send u a private message and answer it to the best of my knowledge. http://mondaynightcombat.wikia.com/wiki ... nner_guide ^^^ my gunner guide
well there's already the Q+A thread in general discussion, but since I see you're a competent gunner I am all ears for some more tips . I'm pretty good at it but it's always good to learn more
Heres one for you. Even if you use armour 3 on the gunner do you find some (and its only some) assaults can shread through you like butter yet still have survivability?
What endorsements? I don't gunner often but when I do dos equis ....No seriously I'm not to keen on the gunner class Tank and gunner are so slow How do you use your deploy? Any basic general or advanced tips and strats would be appreciated
can the gunner grapple the jackbots? I don't use his grapple ever, I have 0 grapple kills for him, so I dunno if it works... I usually just feed them mortars til they burst
If you don't mind could you answer another question? I would say I am a decent gunner (if it matters lvl 69, 1.874 k/d, over 1k mini gun kills) I do well in most games along with blowing up turrets and grabbing the annihilator when possible. My problem is that I am starting to improve a lot slower. I have trouble staying alive for more than 2-3 kills. Any slightly more advanced gunner tips that would help me become a more valuable player. Also do you upgrade slam/deploy/grapple. Do you buy bots and if so under what circumstances?
I can answer this one. I've seen a few that looked like a cheater and felt like a cheater. Bolt is a great assault player, but I've seen some that utterly blow him away. There's a middle range where the assault is just dead if a gunner is spun up. If he's not the assault wins. The thing is some of these guys were obviously not upgraded yet and I was and they still wtf owned me 1 on 1. Mid long range ok..... mid short range..... cheater.
Staying in deploy is stupid. You should use it for a little boost if you need it in a fight and then get out of it. Notable exceptions include having a hacked support near you under the enemy base or lots of allies. Juicing and deploying on the ball is also quite acceptable.
Snipers! Hit them at long enough range and you can fire twice. The first hit wounds them and the second kills unless they have gold armor. Against wounded enemies fire so that the shot lands behind a wall/glass/pillar. The aoe can keep them from healing. If it is clear drop down and finish them if you got a little healing. Mortars work well against supports healing turrets or firebases if they are standing in the wrong spot.
What class is giving you trouble? Assault? Sniper? Combinations? Go for easy kills and assists in the first few minutes of the match. I hate to say it but until you've got level 3 passive the assault has more firepower :/. After that you can wipe the floor with them (provided you avoid the bomb trick and the charge). You can also soften assaults up with mortars and that really helps. If you want to stay alive you need to use the terrain. Be a jumpy sob and use your gigantic target reticle to your advantage. If you killed a guy and got hurt a little find some good terrain and watch where the enemy might come from. If you got hurt a ton try to escape while blocking most of his attacks with jumps and barriers. Dip Dodge Dive Duck and Dodge. That's right, only the Gunner can duck (it's his mortar taunt). If you just killed a guy and there's no one around.... TAUNT! Ok that's my biggest pro tip of the day. To be a more valuable player you can help watch over supports so they can get their turrets hacked in a great location. Call out enemies to your team. Ask for help if you are outnumbered. Retreat instead of fighting unless your death can be meaningful.... delaying them just long enough so that the support can land an airstrike or heal that turret a little. I upgrade slam if there are many assassins or one really good assassin. The level 3 slam is incredibly hard to avoid and the recharge is very nice against multiple backstabbers. It's also very satisfying to knock out people with juice. Never buy deploy level 3. It lowers your dps and the helmet while good in theory just doesn't work well. Never upgrade the grapple, it's crap. The grapple is good for three things: killing 1 black jack, wasting someone's juice, killing a weakened enemy with it to humiliate them. Bouncers kinda suck. I only make them in rare occasions, but sometimes they help. If the enemy is being healed by a support, rush out with a bouncer and it might save a more expensive turret. Bouncers are quite awesome if your team is killing the enemy ball and there are no turrets. They are pretty good at harassing the lighter classes.
haha ya I'm still feeling the assault out Id prolly rank it as my third best pro I play assault so much differently then most tho, I've tried all the builds like I said and nothing will make the AR a shredding ripping machine. If I can't kill something then I at least just put shots on it, the assault is an amazing team player and putting up shots on people not only annoys them but I often have HUGE amounts of assists from game to game making myself a kredit to team and raking in easy cash IF you wanna just rip through people, play gunner imo Honestly the AR doesn't need much, win your gunfights with mobility and accuracy, not firepower That's my stance But uhm.... Where is the OP? I don't think he has responded once yet...
