Given two players starting on different planets with no movable moons - what are people seeing as the end game? Are games devolving into very defensive stalemates? Are people putting such a priority on getting a firebase on the other guy's planet that you can generally build a firebase before the planets are locked up?

In my games I've yet to get to that point, but I haven't figured out a reasonable solution.

There is no option for them. This is probably why everyone start on same planet for now.

Currently it would be an eco and tech race, then spam orbital fighters for defense and attack with maybe some orbital lazer platforms for the attack... basically who every wins the fight above someones else's planet wins as they can now spam lazers unit the com dies.. unless commander has found water... then its now defend a beach head with your orbital units until you can build some factories or a nuke and get the upper hand on them...

Just wait for interplanetary nukes. That'll fix things. :p
