I'm unsure if there is a thread addressing this already, if so sorry The easiest and most organised way to get Scrims (Private games) sorted on Gears was via twitter and we used it quite effectively, we all just followed each other. Chron made an MNC private match twitter, but he doesn't play too often anymore, so someone else should probably make one.
