Why turn it off by default? Again, this has been discussed in length. If you don't like it, buy/host a server of your own so you can do your own settings. Don't force decisions down other peoples throats or change a system that already works. So what, people team stack. It's mostly noobs that can't play worth jack ****. If it is competent players, they choose teams to be with friends and they choose at the last second so that noobs can't team stack with them.
If team selection was off, i'd be forced to change servers when i want to play with a friend or housemate. We don't really communicate - he's in another room, i wear a headset, the voice chat in game is worthless - so there's no "pubstomping" really. We do synergise very well, always playing 2 player co-op games and well aware of playing styles and tactics... But having to hunt for a server with team selection on - then actually finding you're playing against people who ARE intentionally stacking - would be far less fun and make finding an enjoyable server a lot more hassle for a very minimal gain to the community. So sure - make it an option if it isn't already - but don't make it the default option.
I also made a thread like this. In hindsight I now realize that the problem is not that team select is on by default but that I cannot sort servers to my general preferences. There are a few of them, and sometimes I stumble upon them, but I don't really have the money to host or rent my own server.
Given you don't know where I live, my current financial situation and the circumstances surrounding it, I'm pretty sure you're not able to make that judgement. Most of my money goes towards food, rent, and moving in what's probably July. In addition I have some significant debts as a result of the student loan office screwing me over fourfold. I recently had to cut my internet temporarily just to make rent, and am now running on a significantly reduced connection until I get my next pay. Don't presume situations are so simple as you think.
Same here, 1400 every year - few for university + rent, food, internet, heating, electric, shitload of expensive books to study and traveling to my girlfriend. No money for a gameserver. And at the moment I have to search for a server who has team selection disabled. Why don't turn it around so that YOU have to search for a server if you want to play with your friends.
Provided people were able to actually filter servers by the bits they want among the basic server options this wouldn't be needed. Servers with team select off would be more populated if it was easier to find the damn things, which would bring forth more people choosing this option for their server. Much like stock 24 player no-crit tf2 servers, they would be the normalest variation over the established norm(in tf2's case that would be 32 player, crits on, hlstats or whatever :roll: ) giving it an almost guaranteed population.
Access denied :twisted: No way, my metabolism is so powerful that I eat one pound bred+cheese+meat etc for dinner or 1kilo preserved food out of my pot without getting fat. It's expensive, yes. But I hunger without my food ... And yes, we need better filter options. Why don't copy the TF2-system? I liked it a lot, customize one time, search easy everytime.
But food is not only good for you, but delicious! Anyone who doesn't love food(and more importantly bacon) should not be permitted to play Monday Night Combat!
