On my MacBook Pro Retina, the game is unplayable because anything I do with the trackpad is magnified 10x. Try to scroll around? I'm from one end of the galaxy to the other in 1mm. Try to zoom, I either see the whole galaxy or the dirt on a planet - nothing in-between. I totally get alpha/beta processes (I'm a developer myself and have been for many years), but I'd really like the opportunity to play JUST ONE GAME - OK I just tried it again - never mind. I was stupid. Didn't try changing the game settings. Now my big issue is I get a lot of black on a planet, no textures.
If you have Steam installed open Steam client, then in top bar choose 'Help' > 'System Information' and post output here. It's contain all required information about your MacBook. Do you see black planets on start of gameor just randomly? If on start of game try to wait in lobby before planet generation indicator (red circle in top) turn green and only then press "ready". It's very common issue on Nvidia graphics on Linux and Windows, but I'm not sure about OS X.
