As some of you know I am the CTO of a video-game company in Tokyo.

I just wanted to post to let anyone who cares know that I am fine for now.
The aftershocks have been non-stop since the start and a building in my area caught on fire, but no one in this area is seriously injured.

For anyone who did not know, an 8.9 hit northeast of Tokyo, followed by a 6.5 just east of Tokyo.
Tsunamis reaching 10 meters (36 feet) are headed for the coast as we speak.
4-meter waves have already destroyed the coasts of Tokyo.

Similar damage was done to my office.

Many countries are on high alert for tsunamis, so check your news to see if you are under any risk.

Wow, it's amazing how it looked like they thought it was an amazing experience for their first big earthquake, then it got bigger and bigger and the realization finally hit'em.

You have my best wishes and prayers, it's a shame mother nature hasn't been so nice recently.

    Re: Tokyo Earthquake

    Thank you all.

My room was trashed when I got home. My $3,000 Yamaha MOTIF XF8 was knocked off its stand and laying on the floor.
My monitor has scratches from falling over and sliding down my desk face-first.
Quite annoying. Water even spilled out of the toilet

Glad to hear you are okay. I really hope your government can cool down those two nuclear reactors in time! Good luck and be save!

I'm not good at saying serious things, but know that I am riduculously goddamn happy you are fine. I'm sorry that your stuff got destroyed, but at least you're okay, and in the long run, that's all that really matters.

The earthquake was upgraded to a 9.1, making it 3rd strongest in recorded history, equal to the Indonesian earthquake of 2004

However, much more potentially devastating, as it has shifted Earths axis 10 inches, shifted Japans coast, and caused other worldwide damage.

    http://www.inquisitr.com/100604/japans- ... -to-shift/

I am fine for now, but these things typically come in waves, as did the Indonesian earthquakes, which were a few months apart.
With the poles about to shift, we can expect anything.

I am not the only one who needs to be careful anymore.

Be alert if you are in the predicted path of the radioactive fallout.

    Oh oh...

Explosion in one of the reactors. Not a meltdown but that's certainly not good...

I believe so as well. Read somewhere that outside the plant for some kilometers, its actually 8x more radiation... However it hasn't spread from there and they have it half-assed stabalized (if you call 8x more radiation stable, at least it isn't 100x)

I saw the pictures of the tsunami hitting. Be thankful you weren't hit by that.

It might seem a bit selfish, but every time there's an earthquake, tsunami, rockslide, it makes me even more thankful to live in disaster-free England. I really feel bad about that.
