Long story short, Tim is out of money and sort of asking for more money.

I'm here to talk with you guys because Uber is currently working on a Kickstarter funded game (which i think is going fantastically).

How do you think the negative impact of Tim's mismanagement will affect future Kickstarters and crowdfunded games? There is a lot of valid criticism for KS concerning the fact that there is no product, and people are essentially using KS as a "buy now, have later" thing, where they take the company at their word. This can end up badly. Luckily for PA, there was no requirement by KS for an actual prototype. Luckily for US, that wasnt a problem for Uber, and we're on schedule (whereas Tim is laughably behind schedule). Unluckily for KS backers of Broken Age, there was no prototype, just "Im Tim Schafer, want me to make another game?".

So we've seen how it can be good, with FTL and hopefully the finished product of PA, and we've seen how a KS can do poorly in development (we await the release for final judgement).

Can Uber do a well enough job to offset a horrible job if Broken Age turns out terrible?

This article makes me worry about the future of Trials in Tainted Space. We might not get the capital ships we were promised.

All i got to say, is it sucks everyone reacts to everything like a passionate damning smiteful hiveminded punk. Yes me saying this sounds familiar, but i mean it, everyone is so easy to bandwagon support and bandwagon shun.

KS only needed one flop to send it from overly popular with everyone, to "its a scam its a scam everyone stay away and sue them", and now i bet kickstarter use will dwindle. Not that it is needed, i seen 2 companies have personal pages with miltitier sell prices to prefund games.

Just read the article, and it is severely exaggerated. They didn't do anything wrong but try to build minecraft 1.5.1 in the same time it took for minecraft 1.0.0.

Their current plan fixes it already, just release it and update until finished. Too bad the hivemind freakout will wrongfully wreck pr.

That has to honestly be the one thing I really hate about just people in general xD especially on the internet. The moment someone gets the idea that something is either terrible or amazing, especially if that person is even slightly influential, the ENTIRE world will start a huge praisefest or shitstorm about it.
Kickstarter use starts - OMG WE CAN FUND COOL SH*T WE WANT!
Tim Schafer runs out of money - WTF KICKSTARTER IS A SCAM

I guess it goes down to most internet users being so out of touch with anything like money.

At the very least, he didn't mention planetary annihilation, that saves us some pr and prevents a second coming of ragers visiting the forums like those steam guys.

Kvalheim, why do you continuously be racist towards the Italians and (sometimes) the Dutch?

It wasn't meant to offend anyone and no one was offended.

    I don't see the problem.

Casual racism is okay because I didn't mean to offend anyone.

I don't really care if people get offended over petty things like that.

I'm offended at the stupidity of being offended by something that isn't a personal attack.

There's a huge difference between casual racism and actual racism.

Laughing at another persons pain is sick and twisted, and yet slapstick is okay.
Why? Because one is intended as a joke and is not to be taken seriously.

And you'd be a better troll if I didn't enjoy ranting about stupidity.
