I haven't had a disk drive since some time in 2004, maybe earlier .... -_- yes I am a precursor of to the ways of the future.

anyhow I bought a physical copy of GTA V (cuz they're much cheaper that way than on steam for some reason)

but apparently putting your GTA online key into steam isn't something you're supposed to do.

so what solution do I have, because one way or another I want to link my GTA V account to steam, And I would REALLY like it if I could download it via steam? (I have a feeling it'll be way faster that way than the seven CDs)

And 7 DVDs! Holy crap! That code doesn't work for Steam? That seems weird, my Civ 5 and Skyrim games worked like that. I could either install via DVD drive or download it, so I'm not sure why that isn't working. Is there any instructions on where to put the code in? Is the code only for activating the installer on the DVD like in the old days?

My suggestion would be to steal a DVD drive from another computer or borrow a USB DVD drive if you can't just download the game.

the key for GTA online isn't the game key and it isn't in the standard format therefore steam won't accept it./

I'm looking for a procedure whereby I can authenticate myself as a proprietor of a GTA V copy and link that to my steam account. They must have some sort of webpage.

Otherwise I'm really in the ****.

what with today's internet speeds (and the hassle of changing cds) I doubt I couldn't get it installed faster on steam then with a cd drive.

Atm it's not crazy, but most of the time i have so many tabs I just open new windows- even across two separate web browsers...

Anyway! Seven disks!? The xbox one version has one disk iirc. 360 had two.

I used to do way more with only 4GB and integrated graphics... I had to restart my PC practically every day...

Now I have 16 though. :3
