So I have watched and read and experienced things about the Orbit system, and how its incredibly hard to select and see what you, or anyone else, has in orbit of a planet. My thought on this would be for when you scroll out into the orbit layer, that anything on the ground is no longer focused (grey out like shroud). Basically a layer on top of the current layer (think of the orbit ring as new "land"). So when your in Orbit View, you now see a new (purely flat) landscape to build and use. When using Sats to fire on the ground, it would be the same we have now, just select and scroll back down to the planet and pick targets and fire away. This would greatly assist for if we start using fabbers up there for orbital buildings.
They said in the live cast on Nov. 27 that they are working on fixing the viewing for orbital layer.... My friend that I play with suggested the same thing... funny!!! I think it would work pretty well.....
The most recent video cast they showcase the new orbital view. http://pamatches.com/news/planetary-annihilation-livestream-november-27-new-orbital-view-and-qa/ It's a big overhaul of the camera system and is going to be awesome.
Agreed!!!!! But sirlansalot was talking about seeing in the orbital layer.... not moving between planets and the solar system.... They mentioned that there working on changing how you view the orbital layer... but as far is I remember they never showed it.... Also I love the new camera system too!!!! Can't wait....
