I'm switching over from TF2 to this game. I've also played League of Legends and DotA for a long time. MNC manages to mix FPS elements and MOBA elements in a way that makes it tons of fun while throwing all the frustration of long-winded games with idiots on your team by making the games last 15 minutes, by letting you leave whenever, and by making you matter a lot more than you would in an RTS style MOBA. Being able to customize fully your favorite class' perks(And being on equal footing with other players) without having to play +40 hours of gameplay/without paying real life money is also pretty cool. I think this game should be more popular, but I've seen a lot of people get frustrated with it and go back to something they are more familiar with. MNC is way more fast-paced than other FPS games, even TF2. It has characters flying everywhere, cloaking, grappling, charging etc... Also, please Uber, don't turn this game into a quasi-marketing joke like Team Fortress 2 and League of Legends are now. Coercing people into buying gameplay content at insane prices item by item or playing an insane amount of time to obtain it is a no-go, and don't shatter the whole game with DLC unless you improve the server browser first("THIS SERVER DOESN'T HAVE YOUR DLC" things).
a better rant than most. also originalish, compared to all those "are us xbox360 players going to recieve support?" threads. plus, i agree. and i believe the devs understand and arent going to do anything to change this game beyond recognition, like tf2 has. just casual and tasteful changes, not directly influencing in-game balance and combat.
I get sad when I think of the people who could've enjoyed this game if they had just given the game a bit more time in order to digest the pace of the game and the meta going on in the game. It's certainly quite a steep learning curve at first but it's what makes it enjoyable compared to games like Black Ops with all its skill equalizing killstreaks.
Well, the "The game is fast-paced" isn't really a rant as much as it is an observation. MNC IS fast paced, and might be frustrating for a newcomer, who might be going back with a game he is already satisfied with. You get used to the game's mechanics though, and then it's really fun. LoL and TF2 are both games that have been ruined due to people wanting to make more money, rather than having everyone satisfied and have a balanced game that isn't forgettable, and they're both games I left due to game company getting more and more greedy. I hope MNC doesn't go that way, I've seen too much games go this way, not a single game company has been able to hold up an in-game store without making it harder for the people that don't pay(For example, VALVe increases crafting recipes and makes new stuff harder to get if you don't pay), and they usually sport prices for one item that cost as much as a whole Activision DLC. Yes, but I meant as in paid DLC, all the servers show even if they have different DLC than you.
This game action is fast if you allow it to be. This is actually a place where the game play feels really rewarding when you are able to stay alive for a while. I remember being the gunner and finally stopped always jumping into the action as fast as i can(which leads to a lot of deaths), but instead I scope out areas, make sure I keep to the walls when I can and always looking out for cloak movements...then BAM and she goes flying It keeps my mind thinking constantly.
Quote removed. CJ http://myfacewhen.com/339/ Whoa. Sefam was being positive about MNC, so any post about MNC that's not QQ'ing or crying for nerf/OP is fine with me.
I can't say that I'm a shooter fan, but this game has me hooked. This is pretty much my first online shooter experience. I signed up for Steam during the Thanksgiving sale and bought Left for Dead 2 and later bought Killing Floor during X-mas. Those I play either single or co-op though. I've never played any of the Call of Duties, Counter Stike, TF2 or the like. Doom and Duke Nukem on the PS1 are pretty much the only others that I have played. I really like what they did with everything and can't wait to see what the future holds.
[Off topic] TF2 has been around since 2007 and on purchase we were given all kinds of cool features and updates before there even was the option to pay for new content. Also, the change in the drop system was made right with the change in crafting recipes.(2 weapons - 1 scrap instead of 3 weapons - 1 scrap [last time I played]) All in all, I feel that valve deserves to make some money off it after all the awesome stuff they put into the game even after it's peak. I mean, the lifespan of a CoD game now is pretty much 1/2 year - 1 year(exception: CoD4) and TF2 has been around for give or take 3 years. I'm pretty sure everybody knows the prices are high, but most people are happy to donate money to the people who brought them such an amazing game. I think thats what it's geared on to. [On topic] MNC is amazing.
