I've not spotted this mentioned yet. It took me awhile to test as I had to clear out the defences of the AI. Here is a picture of two commanders before they fell out. 2 shots from the commander will kill another commander the explosion takes off 1/3 of the surviving commander. THATS one hell of a gun as it took me 5 mins with two t1 bots to get the same result. Here is a picture of two commanders before they fell out
It's not powerful enough though. The Commander should be able to wipe out entire horizontal swaths of units with the D-Gun, just like in TA.
Burst fire, followed by a longer delay between the next burst, should definitely be the commander's weapon, if not a flavor of weapon to choose from in leau of this on certain commanders. Is my opinion. So same gun, firing a line/sweep/cluster (depending on the 6 units he locks onto) of shots into 6 units, followed by a 15 second pause.
Kinda why I wanted to try out the gun on the toughest opponent's armour. I've seen it used against a lot of various opponents but commander on commander seems to be rare
That's because Commander on Commander meant instant loss for both Commanders in TA. People assumed the same would happen in PA.
Well, in TA, the D-Gun did enough damage to kill any normal unit, instantaneously, not even terrain could stop it. It was literally a line which vaporized everything it touched. It overkilled so much that not even wreckage was left. And the Commander's Explosion in TA did literally as much damage as a nuke, which would kill anything but Popups and Krogoths, as well as a few naval units I think. The Commander Explosion in SupCom does about 1/20th the damage of a nuke, and even then, buildings and ACUs had a very high resistance to the damage from this explosion, only taking a fraction of the damage other units took.
My memory of TA is so hazy, Plus I don't want to reply cos that spider signature is staring into my soul..... Damn you arachnophobia
The current commander weapon is an AOE of sorts. I've had entire wings of my bombers taken out in a single shot.
