The new Commander entry animation(PTE)....

    So, we clearly see the Commander coming down to the planet in a drop pod-esque vehicle. Does that mean Uber might be working on making this to be used for ground units late game? :D

    It would be very cool to have such units to establish a beachhead for the upcoming main attack (or to strike at strategic targets).

    No, it's just an effect. The commander isn't actually contained in the drop pod. Have I now destroyed your life?

    Well if nothing else the drop pod is now available in game for modders to get their teeth into.

    Given uber are focusing on polish at the moment (to get game into a releasable state) its unlikely they're going to do anything more with this until after the official 1.0 version.

    Either way the effect looks awesome :)
