Just so happens that I'm listening to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIXjP03u-x4&feature=related Also, I think the devs have more on their hands than just that >>
Just like the favicon, it will come soon enough. Col has been asking for that favicon way before the game was even released. He even made a comment about it on one of the earlier blog posts.
A favicon is the little logo next to a web url. Like for uberent.com it's the Mascot's head. What do you mean he's always been like this?
Oh, that he always wants stuff to be accurate? Hmm no... I don't think I remember what that was supposed to be about.
I'm German okay, I can't help it! Also don't talk about me like I'm not here. I have feelings you know... :x
Really? I never thought other human beings could have feelings, but that might be me. Seriously though, are you planning on making a fansite or something? Cause that's one use I can think of for the favicon.
Nope, I'm already admin on more websites than I can take care of. Besides, the official site is almost perfect, why would we need a fan site?
If you notice Col joined in February of 2009 and the game originally launched in August of 2010. Most of the stuff I pick on him about was him being, or trying , to be helpful. If you look back to Uber's early blogs Col notices that the site had no favicon and even made a quick one for them. Besides Col was the one who put the MNC Wikia together, so in a way he did make a fan site. And hey what's wrong with us being Uber MNC fans?
Right, the Wiki, I'm admin for that too... If somebody is going to make a fansite I'll gladly help out with graphics and stuff and I know my way around Typo3, vBulletin and Mediawiki. Honestly, I don't see what a fansite can do what Uber hasn't provided us with. They post news, artwork, answer questions all the time, give valuable insights to the inner workings of MNC and we already have a wiki (where Ekanaut uploaded several cool things, thanks Eka!). I have been admin of two fan sites for Supreme Commander and we had a nice community going there because we could offer stuff the official site could not: a way to manage and discuss replays, Q&As, hosting of large modding projects and a forum with moderators (GPG's forums are largely unmoderated). Uber pretty much covers all of this already. At least until we have the UDK for MNC. But even than it is probably better to have one centralized forum to exchange knowledge and discuss projects.
Wow, that was fast and very dry, I laughed. Anyway Really? Damn, thanks alot for that then. Also, it's great to see alot of support from the devs. That really makes it feel like this game is alive and not just a zombie thing for players to play. Guess Uber knows how to support, but my guess is that they're focusing on polishing this game before making another one. Seriously, with a community like this, this game'll go far.
