Problem with One Thousands is when you get into the teens it starts to cause confusion. You are taught at an early age that there are no teen one thousands. That makes it very easy to lose count. Hippopotami on the other hand...
There's at least two; the state and the river. If you've never heard of hippopotami you need to loiter around an elementary school where children are playing Hide and Seek. Just don't set off an Amber Alert in the process.
