It does not stand out. People won't notice what is being said. There is no fuctional voice chat so this needs to be fixed. I suppose I should blame how hard headed or fracking stupid the person I was playing with was that they would not listen. They would not help me make gains and would not switch their weapon or use any skills other than bomb. I keep harping on the idea that because there is no class tutorial newer people or even level 20-30 players will act in the manner above. But I'm borderline ready to give up on them as there is no method of communication. Seriously that voice chat does not work for me.
My tactic by trying to make contact usually is: ''Does anyone have questions or want tips?''. If no-one reacts I think, i try my no-kill assassin and lead the bords, if people say no, i stomp them, but i try to only stomp them. IF people actually want to know something, I try to be as usefull as possible.
Yeah, I hear ya man. All day long yesterday I was attempting to use voice chat to tell the other support to overheal and hack the turrets. Finally I took the time to stop and type it all out, and nothing changed. This is so frustrating. I see now why [some of] the vets took time off during the last sale. ;-)
It hurts because I spen an entire match as tank on ammomule killing this one assassin and every time typing. "You need to kill bots" "See you can't keep charging me headlong" "Assassin is not a newbie class" "Try a different class" "You have to skill bots to win, this is why you are losing" This occurred in multiple matches with this same player and then with another assassin.
It is funny seeing this, because quite often, after my team wins a match, I type "This is what happens when your assassins concentrate on PKs".
I've given up on them myself. Occasionally, one will respond to a direct order over voice command. 9 times out of 10, this is me telling them "Your launcher does more damage to turrets and bots than your gun". This is something explained in the tutorial. Sad Panda.
You should never ever tell somebody what to do. Everybody thinks they are the best and you as a noob should just shut up. Only ask if anyone wants tips, if so give it, if you are ignored, do what you normally would do, if they say your a noob, show them whose the boss here. Seriously, nobody listens to random tips in the chatbox because everybody thinks they are good, therefore they think it isn't meant for them so they won't listen to it.
That may be true in general, but I have read the tips listed, even if they do not pertain to the class I am playing at the time, just to see if it might be a good idea to try. *shrug* Then again, I also come to the forums and read the strategy guides.
i normally just type visit the forums at http://www.uberent.com for hits and tips after some matches.
How many players bought this game during the last three sales? And how many did come to the forums? How often did we spam to come here for tips? How often did people actually listen to us? How often did we get ignored or even worse, get hated for it? I find it a waste of time, yes i will ask if anyone wants tips or have questions, but if no-one reacts, i think my job is done, because now-a-days people actually are less fanatic gamers, so people think, look a game for only 5, why wouldn't I try it. Then they see that they aren't immediatly go(o)d at it, so they quit. Of course there are still people like you and me, but they become rarer.
Thinking about it more how many accounts have MNC installed? How many of them are active and how many of them just never come back. Good lord it is painful to think of all the reasons why so many people just don't care to be better and have fun. It has been a while now and I think I feel indifference now. I think I'll play anti-player, anti MB assault today.
Wish people would stop screaming for tutorials. Getting raped by better players is the best tutorial you could possibly get. I never saw anything in SSF4 about how Sakura can stun you in two easy combos. Didn't see anything in Q3A telling you when the megahealth has respawned. People will keep playing when they like the game enough to be a better player. They'll quit when they don't like it anymore.
This is true up to a point. I don't think tutorials are the answer, but neither is sink or swim...I mean obviously. Look how it is not working now.
