The Assassin's Role in the game. Should she be changed.

Ok, experience of my own, and information given by more experienced players have pointed out that the Assassin doesn't exactly fill the role that is expected of her skill set.

She is not a pro-killer, she isn't meant to take out key targets or simply harass pros to cause paranoia. But rather she is the best bot killer and base raper and fills those roles very well.

I'm not claiming she is imbalanced, or requesting any changes to her abilities to perform those actions she does. However I think it might be prudent to perhaps... rename her? Or something.

ANY player who comes into this game, see the skill set and tips given for her will immediately assume she is meant to well.. assassinate. However this is NOT what she should be doing.

Honestly I'm not sure how this could be changed. But its an interesting issue.

See there is a difference between slaying and assassinating. Most Assassin players just kill, kill, kill, while good Assassins well assassinate high value targets while still being able to control bot lanes.

Just look at the word assassinate in history. It's usually people of high importance or social standing that get "assassinated."

I think the name Assassin fits. Now if it was named Warrior I would see the need for a name change. Besides if they were to change the name what would they change it to?

Although I do remember someone suggesting a name, I think it was Jen, Saboteur. That would work though.

saboteur is much better.

As for the role of assassin. Even if you take into account her picking off of specific pros. Her main role still ends up being: kill bots, get juice, rape enemy base, repeat.

For as good as she can kill bots and destroy defenses she is horrible at escorting a lane.

Can we leave the damn game alone? The assassin is good at assassination and infiltration. For the love of bacon, stop with the creative ideas on how to ruin my favorite game.






Yes. Renaming assassin to spy or something else stupid would ruin the game for me.

If any player thinks that way, they should be shot. When I FIRST PLAYED THE GAME, I immediately realize it was:

1. a good pro killed (if you sneaky sneaky)
2. a good bot killer (if you sneaky sneaky)
3. a good turret killer (if you sneaky sneaky)
4. obliterate key enemies for your team in case they cannot handle him/her (if you sneaky sneaky)

Maybe I have a higher IQ than the average player? I don't know, but changing the name from Assassin to KILLTHETURRETS doesn't help.

Everytime I see your posts, I read: "Griefing Player makes another topic". That's all I'm saying. You say you want something changed, and propose some weird fix that doesn't really help the situation.

Every time I see your posts, I read: "Sad little man who is afraid of the world but thinks he is better than everyone." That's all I'm saying. You say you want everything to stay the exact same and don't bother to read peoples posts when they are discussing the game if there is a remote possibility that their post may include a change (even if the post DOESN'T include one.)

I'll be honest, imo, it's still too early to ask/request for balance changes on the PC version.

I'm not asking for a balance change though!

READ THE POST. I'm just pointing out her main role is counter intuitive to her design. She kills turrets and bots, but killing pros is a secondary feature.

I wouldn't mind a change to her name making it Saboteur.

I understand about the balance changes. It was just a blanket statement.

I think the tank should not be called TANK unless they put caterpillar tracks on his feet and a cannon on his head, or name him FATGUYINFUNNYSUIT, uber plz fix thx.

By definition the Tank fufills the role of a Tank in the form of its definition within gaming. He is a heavily armored class designed to soak up damage and disrupt the enemies abilities.

A long while back I suggested Saboteur as a name for one of those "new pro" ideas, though I'm not sure if you're referring to something else.

Come to think of it, now that I've played more MNC I can see numerous additional flaws in that old pro design.

I knew it was a joke, but it was also a jab at my thread in an attempt to deride my point and make it seem stupid or a fallacy.

... and I'm saying I WOULD. I don't need you changing a perfectly balanced name. Don't nerf it.

and her name during development was the ninja. its shown in the hostile folder's sound packages. she is under "ninja"

Her character does sort of look like a ninja, however Assassin still sounds cooler. I would only approve the name "ninja" if she had a flying kick skill as well as a "FALCON KICK" sound. :lol:

omg if we could rename custom classes im gonna call my gunner KILLTHETURRETS


But before uber starts doing trivial stuff like renaming classes i hope they do more important stuff like fixing assault lvl3 air charge etc.
