It seems that every time i respawn, the game completely reloads the textures for everything, causing significant lag and stuttering for about 5-10 seconds after I spawn... Is there anything that can be done about this? It seems like it was designed for helping xbox fps, but on the pc, it's just annoying :x
Yup, looks like the Unreal engine goes through all the mip map sizes before it settles on the quality you selected in the settings. Would be great if there was a way to avoid that.
What if textures loaded while the random loading screen video played? so that this would be avoided? when entering the arena all the textures would be loaded.
High-quality textures won't load unless the player is within range. It's part of the engine and really can't be changed lest someone knows the console command or line in the .ini to change the LoD range.
